Message From Chancellor France A. Córdova

On behalf of the students, faculty and staff of the University of California, Riverside, I welcome you to our beautiful campus. We are proud to be located in the vibrant Inland Southern California area and we want you to explore and enjoy our community.

This is a university dedicated to providing you with a superior education. We have a dynamic and dedicated community of students, faculty and staff. All of us are dedicated to serving you and helping you meet your goals.

Opportunities abound to pursue a variety of interesting and enjoyable activities during your college experience. Whether it is research or community service, music or mountain climbing, the sciences or the arts, you will find an on-going list of activities and events on or near campus. I also encourage you to support the Braveheart spirit by attending athletic events and cheering for our student athletes as they compete against other Division I teams.

Our first students were admitted in 1954 and, since then, the university has broadened its mission to every area of discovery and scholarly inquiry. The University of California, Riverside offers undergraduate and graduate education to more than 17,000 students and has a projected enrollment of 25,000 students by 2015.

We are recognized as a world leader in the fusion of teaching and research excellence in a multicultural environment. Add to that our commitment to public service and you can expect an educational experience that will serve you for life.

Welcome to UC Riverside. I'll see you on campus.

France A. Córdova
